A little favourite of mine at the moment is a yummy turmeric milk or sometimes known In Ayurveda as Haldi Doodh or ‘Golden Milk’ & golden it is.
Turmeric has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for its incredible healing properties for thousands of years, an anti inflammatory, assists with joint pain, digestive issues, fatigue. lifts mood & so much more. A delicious little miracle herb!
I thought I’d give you a recipe to make some golden milk of your own using all things you should have in your cupboard, so nice & easy.
you will need:
250ml of any type of milk (At the moment I am using oat)
1 or 1/2 tsp of turmeric
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
A pinch of black pepper
1 tsp of maple syrup or honey (to taste)
Some like to add ginger & if you have ground ginger you could try with 1 or 1/2 tsp.
Pop everything into a pan except the maple syrup or honey & bring to a lower simmer for around a minute.
Perhaps trying based on how hot you like your drinks (extra hot for me!) & then pour into your favourite mug adding maple syrup or honey to taste & fully embrace the yumminess of something that is pretty darn good for you. :-) Maybe even add a bit of sprinkle on top for that extra wow! (think rose petals, cacao dusting or nutmeg)
There are some pretty amazing Golden Milk blends that can be bought online with some additional herbs, spices & goodness added to them but if you’re wanting to keep it cheap & simple then I hope you enjoy this one
AHappy Holidays!
